Biography
Wesley Chin is a transcriber, saxophonist, and flight instructor based in New Jersey. Wesley's musical development began at a young age with piano before picking up the alto saxophone in elementary school. His interest in jazz developed in high school, where he participated in several jazz groups and formed a jazz combo. In 2020, he published a book of 50 solo transcriptions of jazz saxophonist Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, entitled "Chad LB Transcribed." Since then, Wesley has published two additional transcription books with Lefkowitz-Brown. Wesley has also worked on transcription projects for Grace Kelly, Leo P, Vincent Herring, Steven Feifke, Jumaane Smith, Sam Dillon, and Andrew Gould.
Currently, Wesley studies Finance at the Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Besides music, Wesley's other passion is aviation. He completed his first solo flight on his 16th birthday and obtained his private pilot certificate on his 17th birthday. Since then, he has obtained his instrument rating, commercial pilot multi-engine certificate, and certified flight instructor certificate. Wesley works as a flight instructor, providing instruction to students pursuing FAA Private Pilot and Commercial Pilot certificates, and plans to begin working as an airline pilot in the near future.
