BIOGRAPHY

Wesley Chin is a music transcriber and airline pilot based in the New York metropolitan area.

​

Wesley’s musical development began at a young age with piano before picking up the alto saxophone in elementary school. His interest in jazz developed in high school, where he participated in several jazz groups and formed a jazz combo.

​

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Wesley began transcribing jazz saxophone solos. In mid-2020, he published a book of 50 solo transcriptions of jazz saxophonist Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, entitled “Chad LB Transcribed.” Since then, Wesley has published three other transcription books with Lefkowitz-Brown, in addition to working on several projects with his jazz education company, Jazz Lesson Videos. Wesley has also worked on transcription books and projects for Grace Kelly, Leo P, Steven Feifke, Jumaane Smith, Sam Dillon, Andrew Gould, Ryan Devlin, Tim Lin, Erena Terakubo,  Vincent Herring, and Eric Alexander.

Wesley graduated from Rutgers University in 2023 with a B.S. in Finance. Besides music, Wesley’s other passion is aviation. He is currently employed as a full-time airline pilot for a U.S. regional airline operating for United Express, flying the Bombardier CRJ series aircraft.
